The Melvin Smarty production team is comprised of a seasoned and well-credited group of entertainment professionals. We look forward to producing a quirky, captivating and clever comedy that will be a highly entertaining thrill ride for a large audience. The visually rich, character-driven story is set in Reno, Nevada and is as humorous as it is action-packed. We will be shooting in Reno, Nevada and Northern California in October 2009.

MAX-Q specializes in independent film marketing and postproduction. Gene Gamache and Craig O’Donnelly will be serving as film editors and the feature film’s marketing team. They will be editing the feature, create trailers during production, and will supervise post production to make Melvin Smarty a visually stunning and acoustically engaging feature film.

Gene has worked on campaigns for all major studios on projects ranging from Men in Black, The Mummy, Braveheart, The Rock, and Master & Commander. Craig has created hundreds of commercial feature teasers including Meet the Robinsons, Bruce Almighty, Star Wars I-IV, and the Indiana Jones Trilogy.

Simon Mathew is currently developing a slate of film, television and internet projects. He will co-direct and produce the Melvin Smarty. He is in development on The Night Can Be Measured, a film based on the novel We Are All Welcome Here by NY Times best-selling author Elizabeth Berg in which he co-wrote the screenplay and will co-produce.

Mr. Mathew consults and produces for Danjaq LLC, the company responsible for the James Bond franchise. He currrently executive produces the James Bond video games for the franchise. Prior to this he was a full time employee of the company, where he was the production executive for the entire range of special edition James Bond DVD and video editions, video games, and website. As a creative executive for Danjaq, he was involved in the production of Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day.

Before 1996 Mr. Mathew worked for Cometstone Pictures and as a script reader for CAA.

Victoria Raiser is a producer, director and writer based in Los Angeles and San Francisco. She will co-direct and produce Melvin Smarty. Ms. Raiser has been producing and developing independent films since 2002. Among other she wrote and directed the feature Broken Idyll, a psychological thriller filmed in Austria, France and the US, which is currently being submitted to film festivals and co-produced Between, which was selected for the 2005 Sundance film competition.

In 2006 Ms. Raiser founded Liria Films, an independent production company. She is in development on The Night Can Be Measured, a film based on the NY Times Best Selling novel We Are All Welcome Here by Elizabeth Berg. She co-wrote the screenplay and will produce. Liria Films also develops and produces commercial and non-commercial content to help raise awareness about current critical issues. At the present time Ms. Raiser and her team are in production on Gray to Green, a documentary about urban grassroots movements focusing on sustainable food raising methods, “intelligent design” and sustainable living. In tandem, they are filming an awareness and teaching program on bio-intensive farming (How To Feed The World) which will be distributed via a large network of international non-profit organizations in Africa, South America and Asia.

Jeff Dawson is a British journalist — a regular contributor to The Sunday Times (UK) and a former US editor of Empire magazine. His books include the approved biography, Quentin Tarantino And The Cinema Of Cool (1995), with foreword by Tony Scott, which has been translated into various international editions and the 2001 soccer history, Back Home, which was a top five sports book in the UK. His 2005 non-fiction, Dead Reckoning, a WW2 shipwreck survival tale, was nominated for the Mountbatten Maritime Prize.

Growing up in Los Angeles, Kelly Martin Wagner, always had a passion for filmmaking. In 1994 she began her professional career as a voice over actress before realizing how much she enjoyed working with filmmakers, to bring to life their on page characters, through the casting process. "I have always loved the feeling of giving someone something they have worked hard for. To me giving someone the part is the best gift ever." She originally established herself as a well respected casting director specializing in the thriller and horror genre with such films as The Grudge 1 & 2, Hostel 1 and 2, The Messenger, The Eye, Midnight Meat Train, One Missed Call, Crank 2 and Vacancy 2. In the past year she has branched out and joined forces with The Polish Brothers on their acclaimed films Manure and Stay Cool as well as other Sundance Festival themed films. Having cast over 50 feature films, Kelly is a seasoned veteran well known throughout many Hollywood circles.

Ric Smith will be line producing Melvin Smarty. His experience is extensive. Among other, he line produced the independent thriller Lady Killer and The Least Among You starring Louis Gossett Jr., Lauren Holly and William Devane. The Least Among You has been featured in multiple film festivals, winning nearly every category in which it was nominated. Ric also served as co-producer on North By El Norte, which filmed in both Mexico and the U.S. Other projects include the multiple award-winning Wristcutters: A Love Story and the DVD The Lovemaster: Unzipped.

Before moving into film production, Ric wrote and produced What’s On, a half-hour entertainment review show for The TV Guide Channel, and worked in reality television on shows like CBS’s The Amazing Race and Lifetime’s The I Do Diaries. Early on he worked at Paramount Television in marketing, handling the advertising and promotion for such shows as Judge Judy and The Howie Mandel Show.

Born and raised in the bay area Kimberly Dellamonica's design career was inspired by extensive travel. Her interior designs are of a natural eco-friendly character that bring organic luxury and natural elements from the outdoors inside. For her staging and set design career she incorporates a multitude of ideas and in-depth experience that she acquired by working with many a client. Kimberly was recently featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show and in Oprah Magazine. She was awarded "Best Design in America" by Nate Berkus.
